Position of the pieces on the board: The board has 9 horizontal squares and 9 vertical squares.

How the pieces are moved? The chessmen in Abagoren Chess can be moved in various ways. For convenience the movement squares are coloured with the following colours:

11. Castling - the castling is as in the classic chess. Because of the specific positioning of the chessboard, the castling can only be long. For the castling the General can be in it's place or moved already, as long as it is not between the King, Emperor, Boat and Pawns. You grow as well in a general bonus - motion of the King on each conversions of design - you can "return him home" - that is to put it on some of the plains from first horizontal line from your country on the board, as converting design and "returning home" is run on the King at one time, this was counted that is for 1 move. The rule doesn't apply for "returning home", when the King is transformed with an Emperor.

12. The Pawns advancing ahead arrive, in advancing row by row finally to the eighth row where according to the rule they would come to a barrier and would be immobile it is changed for a Boat.

13. In Abagoren chess all figures without the King, Emperor, Pawn, Boat and the General after their capture can be brought again in the play. This joint only at certain circumstances 1. You must have taken this design from the reformer. 2. Misplacing the design was counted for your motion. 3. The figure can be put only in 2 sharply certain fields- the angular fields from your country at the board. 4. The field on which the figure is being not put must not not be busy from another figure.

14. When the King derives from the last horizontal line it is transformed with an Emperor. The Emperor apart that it is higher from the King, but it has as well one extra quality - Can produce Pawns. For producing a Pawn there are several conditions:
1.
The Pawn is produced obligatorily in
the vertical to which it is the King as well
obligatorily in the second horizontal line.
2. Your Pawn must not not have another at the vertical
to which Pawn will not produce herself.
3. The Emperor can produce Pawns
by that time, while your Pawns arise most a lot 9.

15. Not castling in Abagoren chess.
